Keith Rainwater | Managing Partner
Keith Rainwater is a successful entrepreneur and businessman who has founded, funded and guided several companies to commercial success. He has been in the Traffic Safety Service Industry for more than 35 years. He started his career in 1978 with American Striping Company, a roadway safety and highway pavement marking contractor. In 1990, he was CEO of ASC Pavement Markings, Inc., one of the largest highway safety companies in Texas until its sale to United Rentals Highway Technologies in 2000.
In 2000 Keith Rainwater established Rainwater Homes, LLC and was a land developer and home builder. In 2003 Keith Rainwater (Managing Partner) co-founded Total Highway Maintenance (THM) which has become one of the nation’s largest Traffic Safety Services companies. THM started the company in 2003 with less than 20 employees and in 2016 grew to over 260 employees. It grew from a small business to a mid-level market company which now has four locations in Texas and Louisiana.
In 2005 Keith Rainwater co-founded Petrotex Hydrocarbons and was the Chairman of the Board of an innovative technology for refining used motor oil. The company sold the technology to VeroLub in 2013.
In 2006 Keith Rainwater (Managing Partner) co-founded High Friction Surfacing, LLC (HFS). Co-designed and patented an innovative technology for the first fully automated truck to apply High Friction Surface Treatments (HFST) in the USA. There have been several patents issued on this technology. HFS took the process to market and operated as a contractor applying HFST throughout the USA until the sale in 2010 to DBI Services. Keith Rainwater has extensive government relations experience at both the State and Federal level. He has served on various committees and on the boards on the State and National level of the American Traffic Safety Services Association (ATSSA) since the mid 90’s. He has served as a Board of Director on the ATSSA Texas Chapter from 2005-2007 and on the National level as a Board of Director on the ATSSA Foundation Board from 2008-2010. He has been to Washington DC with ATSSA several times walking the Halls of Congress to lobby for Traffic Safety Service issues. He has also lobbied for Petrotex Hydrocarbons with Congressional Leaders, the Department of Energy, and various energy-related groups regarding the technology.
Keith Rainwater has designed additional technology for the HFST industry that has been patented and is currently working on advanced technology that will benefit the pavement marking industry. He is presently serving on the National ATSSA High Friction Surface Treatment Council.
Keith Rainwater has been happily married for twenty-four years and a proud father of five. He enjoys golfing with family and friends.
Jeff Rainwater | Managing Partner
Jeff is a God fearing, hardworking, husband, father of three, outdoorsman, and entrepreneur. He graduated in 1990 from Nimitz High School and has founded and owned several companies since, including founder and co-owner of American Truline Manufacturing & Equipment Co LLC, founder of American Truline Logistics LLC, and founder and co-owner of Lone Star Packaging Solutions LLC.
Jeff is founder and co-owner of Total Highway Maintenance, LLC and has worked full time in the pavement marking industry for 27 years. Over the course of those years, Jeff has run crews, managed large projects and people, as well as designed and constructed numerous pieces of equipment related to the highway marking and safety industry, including the design and construction of the first Automated High Friction Surfacing application truck.
Jeff believes you get the most out of people when you value their ideas, input, and encourage creativity. He contributes a large part of his success to the people he works with.
Ray Vanek | President
Ray Vanek is President of Total Highway Maintenance, LLC, and Subsidiaries (“THM”). Mr. Vanek commenced the position May 2, 2016, to lead and grow a talented and experienced team to the next level of revenues and profits in this mid-market company. THM is comprised of (3) primary divisions: Traffic Control Safety & Management, Pavement Markings, and High Friction Surface Treatment. Mr. Vanek is committed to safety, strategic vision, growth via organic and strategic acquisitions, and to provide leadership, value creation and knowledgeable solutions to the organization. He appreciates the 265 (+) employees and values their commitment to THM. Mr. Vanek is committed to hard work & expects those around him to indulge in the same culture.
Mr. Vanek is also the founder and CEO of Vanco Management, LLC, a private investment and consulting firm investing and/or consulting in small to mid-size operating companies. In addition to operating companies, his firm invests in commercial/land real estate projects in multiple real estate sectors. Mr. Vanek is passionately dedicated to Farm/Ranch land and operations. He is also a Licensed Texas Real Estate agent through The Vanek Group at Coldwell Banker.
He started or acquired, built, consulted, and sold many companies during his career, centering on financing and building growth stage companies. Previously, Ray founded R & D Industries, Inc., a portable rental and manufacturing company serving the North Texas area and implementation of special projects across the U.S. Prior to R & D Industries, Inc., Ray was a V.P.at MainBank, N.A., Commercial Banking, financing M&A transactions, Business traditional lending and financing commercial real estate transactions. Ray began his career in commercial banking, with First Interstate Bank (Wells Fargo), in Dallas, Texas.
Ray earned his MBA with honors from The University of Notre Dame, South Bend, IN, and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Texas, Dallas, Texas with an emphasis in accounting and finance. He attended Trinity Valley Community College in Athens, TX where he played college football. Ray currently serves as a Director on The Mendoza College of Business Graduate Alumni Board, Director and Advisory Boards for businesses/and/or not-for-profit entities throughout Texas. He enjoys sports, outdoor recreation, land and ranching. Most importantly, he revolves his life around his spiritual faith, his lovely wife Debbie, sons Cameron, Duston and Brandon and his step-sons Aaron and Jason. Ray resides in Midlothian, Texas.
Robert “Rob” Everitt | Vice President of Business Development
Beginning his work in construction project management and estimating in 1999, Robert (Rob) Everitt currently serves Total Highway Maintenance, LLC.’s leadership team as Vice President of Business Development. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from University of Houston (UH). Robert has served as a member of the AGC/Texas Construction Joint Committee and is Currently on the Board of Directors for Texas ATSSA. Prior to Total Highway Maintenance, LLC., he worked as a Division Manager for DBi Services of Hazelton, Pennsylvania.
Shane Hood | Chief Financial Officer
Shane Hood is the Chief Financial Officer for Total Highway Maintenance, LLC where he manages the company’s finances and plays a key role in the oversight of IT, fleet management, and inventory management. He is responsible for upholding strong financial management and accountability while providing timely, accurate, and reliable financial information and enhancing internal controls for the company and subsidiaries.
Prior to Total Highway Maintenance, LLC, Shane served as Controller for BPG Capital, a private oil & gas producer. He played a key role in developing the accounting and finance infrastructure and assisted in the development of the operational and marketing divisions. Shane received his Business Process Management (BPM) Certification in 2012.
Shane has been happily married for twenty years and outside of work, he stays busy spending time with his two sons, Shane and Trey, and his daughter, Bailey. Shane holds an AAS from North Lake College, where he was inducted into the world’s largest and most prestigious honor society for two-year college students, Phi Theta Kappa. He is currently pursuing his MS of Accounting from Southern New Hampshire University, where he is recognized on The President’s List for academic excellence.
